'72~'81 Autobello Aria

First showcased in 1971, the Aria was created as a replacement for the well-proven, but aging Piccolina. The car featured an innovative hatchback chassis, with a large tailgate in place of a bootlid, and a state-of-the-art drivetrain, where the engine, mounted transverse in front of the car, powered the front wheels via an end-on gearbox.

With its wide range of powerplants and trims, from a basic 1.0L Standard model to a sporty 1.5L twin-cam Corse version, the car instantly captured the supermini market. Although less known today, it has since cemented its place in automotive history as the template for modern superminis and a pioneer of the car industry - much like its predecessor.
